For No One

This is harder than I had thought it would be.

I thought I could handle it.

I will continue to pray.

KL Food: Dain Ti Hill at Pavilion

It was a working day when some of my friends decided that they were gonna get hungry. Not only the stomachs needed feasting, the eyes as well. So we had to make another decision. What decision you ask? Decision to eat and watch a movie.

If you look at the following photo, you might be able to guess where we went to, provided that you:

1. Have been there before
2. Live in KL
3. Been to KL
4. Stay in PJ, sometimes travel to KL
5. Are from Klang, and sometimes travel to KL
6. Work near Pavilion

Therefore you might have guessed where we went. It was a place called The Pavilion, specifically in a restaurant named Dain Ti Hill.

The two photos above were taken whilst waiting for something. I think that something was food. The views were from the windows that I was sitting nearby.

Being the lazy bum I was, I took photos of views accessible from my seat.

We not only took photos of course. We talked too! Especially when we ordered food.

Upon the arrival of the waiter, this ensued:

Susan*: Any special priviliges with any credit cards?

Waiter: Yeth, fittee pesen opf Sitibeng caredeet cut.

Robert*: I'm sorry?

Jennifer*: I think he meant fifteen percent with Citibank credit cards.

Daniel*: Wow, you understand his language!

Waiter: No, fittee pesen.

Robert: Did I just hear....

Susan: ... fifty?

Daniel: Excuse me, fifteen percent? One-five or five-zero?

Waiter: Faiseelo.

Susan: Fifty????? FIFTY????? FIVE ZERO? You sure it's not ONE FIVE?

Waiter: Fittee. Yeth.

Daniel: Citibank impresses!

Robert: Let's not ask the waiter anymore, I think he might get fits from saying the same word again and again.

Susan: Sorry, hope you don't mind I ask again, is it (draws a five and zero sign in the air)

Waiter: Yeth.

It took like about 32 photos before I finalised with the above two.

Then you know what happened?

The food arrived!

All the above dishes were eaten at half-price but finished in totality.

In order to view Susan, Robert, Daniel and Jennifer, you may need to scroll down.

Thanks Susan for buying us dinner!

We adjourned to watching a movie at GSC's.

Made of Honor, starring that handsome guy and that kinda pretty girl was not bad. Dig the soundtrack.

You Won't See Me

I am off to Hong Kong! To be precise, I am firstly, off to Bandar Tasik Selatan's KLIA transit, then to a train to KLIA where I will board a plane to Hong Kong. Good news then! No rubbish postings for at least five days.

The funny thing is (don't laugh yet, it's not meant to be the 'laugh' funny) I invited quite a few people to join me for the treasure hunt. The treasure hunt that got me the free tickets to go to Hong Kong. So many of them rejected my offer with excuses aplenty. Now that I have won the first prize, every single one of them tells me the same thing: "Should have joined you-lah!"

Tsk tsk tsk. Learned your lesson haven't you? Now my advise is to go buy tomorrow's winning number so that you will become a millionaire. If you are wiser beyond that, you will do more. You will also buy the winning lottery ticket and bet on the winning horse on weekends! Go on! If you don't, later I will tell you that "You should have done that-lah!"

Movie Preview: The Storm Warriors (风云2) (Hong Kong) (formerly known as Storm Riders II)

Nicked from www.monkeypeaches.com again, we have some promo pictures of the Storm Riders II, now renamed as Storm Warriors actors posing as the characters of the film. In Chinese, the film remains as Feng Yuen 2. Great to have Aaron and Ekin back!

Ipoh Paintings

Water colour paintings from my uncle, Khor Seow Hooi, is probably the best and most detailed I have ever seen in my life, ever. They first surfaced in this blog via the White Coffee pages and then some dodgy photographs that I took out of some book. Here they are again, photographed from photographs, aimed at showing you the greatness in detailed strokes of the brush.

Please do not re-use the pictures for whatever reason. Thank you.

Let's start with Ipoh, shall we?

There's a high demand for the now classic-heritage locations of the original Ipoh White Coffee at Jalan Bandar Timah.

Good news! This one is taken from a painting.

Nearby that area, we have the famous Concubine Lane.

Then we have some nice factories in Ipoh. Producing what, I don't know.

Fans of the laughable hills aka Funny Mountain soya bean stall may find this following photo quite familiar.

Some pre-war shophouses that are still active in the post-war era.

Finally, not really in Ipoh, we have the scene from Cameron Highlands.
